Supplies needed:
- patience
- time
- blankets and/or towels
- chairs (folding or otherwise) or stools
- large binger clips (optional, but imperative for parental sanity)
The Boy loves playing in his tent. It has been a godsend with all of the time that needs filling while he is on vacation from school. We outdid ourselves this time by including the use of binder clips!

The clips easily attach to the backs of folding chairs and securely hold the blankets and sheets in place.
The clips make the tent dog-proof and keep Mom or Dad from having to "redo" the tent a million times, which is a plus. You can also attach them to shelves which came in handy when the Boy wanted to expand his tent!
The Missus and I are shivering at night because there isn't a sheet or blanket in our house that isn't being used for the tent. Even in the middle of winter, it's a small price to pay for a bit of a break from our job as Entertainment Director for the Boy. Can I get an amen?

Amen! You crack me up, Justin!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! Thanks for reading! Glad I cracked you up- I did something right today! :)
DeleteLove it! My husband made us one during a power outage and he used zip ties but I love the addition of the binder clips!
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie! The zip ties are a super idea! My wife and I try to fix everything that breaks with zip ties. Well, zip ties and Velcro! Thanks for reading!
DeleteAmen! I can't believe that I haven't thought of the binder clips, that is brilliant!!! I have to get some for my kiddos forts, I hate have to rebuild them all the time! Thanks for the tip. Love the fort it is huge!!

Hi Sarah! It's the rebuilding that'll kill you! Yes, do yourself a favor and get some binder clips! You're right, the fort is huge. Too huge actually. We can barely get around in that room, but my son has had so much fun with it! Thanks for reading!
DeleteBinder clips are the BEST thing since sliced bread. I use them all over the place. They work WAY better than those plastic 'chip clips' for snacks. I also use them to hold together a short stack of index cards. I carry them around as a collection tool for ideas and 'to do' tasks.
ReplyDeleteLove the tent. Looks like you guys had a fun, fun time. And THAT's what it's all about.
Hey Michael! Thanks for reading and leaving me a comment! I am not a very handy guy so my entire house is held together by Velcro, zip ties, and binder clips! Hey, don't laugh, it works! :)
