Sugar Cookies With Cookie Dough Frosting And Cookbook Giveaway

I received The Cookie Dough Lover's Cookbook by Lindsay Landis as a gift from the Missus. You can win your own copy of this cookbook by entering my giveaway (at the end of this post). As soon as I read the words "cookie dough frosting", I knew I had to make these. It's a beautiful book, but what first made me want to get it was the fact that the author claims to have perfected making cookie dough that is eggless, so it's safe to eat raw. I never used to worry about eating raw dough until my son came along and I was faced with having to tell him "no" to having a taste. This book solves that problem (and the problem that is my sweet tooth as well).

So, to make these Soft Sugar Cookies with Cookie Dough Frosting...IMG_8970-001

That last step freaked me out a bit. I was stressed about the dough "coming together", but it did!

Clearly, I have no shame or I would never show you the amateurish job I did on rolling out the dough. Oh well.

The next step is where I sent a mushroom cloud of powdered sugar all over the kitchen. Note to self: when mixing powdered sugar, do so on "low".
All that's left to do is frost the cookies. The Missus and the Boy loved these (I did too!). I took some to work and my teacher friends devoured them and demanded that I bring in more the following day. Praise indeed.

Here's how to enter my giveaway to win your own copy of "The Cookie Dough Lover's Cookbook". Good luck!

  1. Ok, these look too good not to try. So I have pinned them and am tweeting them onto others to try, too. You are awesome and love you for all easy, but tasty recipes you have shared on here so far. By the way, Life Well Blogged is looking for submissions for their new book. I contributed one of my blog entries in their latest book and it is already out in paperback, as well as Kindle version. They are looking for dad bloggers and think you would be perfect for this. The link to submit is: I thought of your NICU Story immediately for this one. Hope you don't mind me sharing, but just thought you would be perfect fit for this one :)

    1. Hi Janine! Thanks so much for the pins and the tweets! I'm trying a new recipe as I am typing this. So far no smoke billowing from the oven, so that's good thing! Wow! That sounds great about Life Well Blogged! I am heading over there to check it out! Thanks for thinking of me and giving me the heads-up!

  2. These look so delicious! I recently ordered some gourmet cookie gifts that were similar, but I might have to try your recipe at home. Thanks for the post :)
